Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team at Neff Preschool. This full-time position from 12:00 pm until 5:55 pm; involves supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a love of learning in our students.
Responsibilities
* Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
* Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other activities to ensure a safe and positive environment.
* Support individual and group learning experiences, adapting to the needs and interests of each child.
* Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom space, including setting up and cleaning up activities.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a strong sense of community.
* Observe and document children's progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
* Assist in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive guidance strategies.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training opportunities as required.
* Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan special events and activities, including field trips and celebrations.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
* Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the lead teacher.
* Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
* Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
* Background check and clearance as required by state regulations.
