Reports to: Paw Paw Middle School Principal
Job Type: Full-time
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree
- Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with (DX), (DI), (ZD), or (ZL) endorsement.
- Successful experience teaching MS Science (preferred)
- Experience working with at-risk students (Preferred)
- Multiple endorsements (preferred)
- Responsible for instructing students in 6th - 8th grades, concentrating in Science
- Maintain proper classroom management
- Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports to advance student achievement
- Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction, develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Understand and appreciate diversity
- Maintain communications with students, parents, staff, and the community
- Participate in district professional development programs as required
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning
- Any other duties assigned by the Principal, and/or designee
