We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Wacousta Elementary. This full-time position requires a commitment to promoting physical fitness and well-being among elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities

* Develop and implement engaging physical education curricula that align with state standards and promote physical fitness, motor skills development, and healthy habits.

* Plan and conduct age-appropriate physical activities, games, and sports that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.

* Assess and evaluate students' physical abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them improve.

* Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel comfortable participating in physical activities.

* Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.

* Organize and oversee school-wide events, such as field days, fitness challenges, and sports competitions.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and encourage their involvement in physical education activities.

* Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in professional development opportunities.

* Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all students.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.

* Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education for elementary education.

* Experience working with elementary-aged children in a physical education setting preferred.

* Strong knowledge of physical education standards, curriculum development, and assessment practices.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

* Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

* Commitment to promoting physical fitness, health, and well-being among students.

* First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
