Boyne City Public Schools has an opening at Boyne City Elementary School for a second-grade teacher for the school year.

Qualifications:

Persons interested in this position must have Michigan certification qualifying them to teach at the elementary school level (K-4) with an emphasis on literacy, use of data in planning for student growth, and evidence of being a student-centered educator.

A strong employment history and excellent references in jobs related to working with children in a team environment.

Reports to: Elementary School Principal

Job Goal: The teacher agrees to perform duties assigned competently and professionally in accordance with the established policies and regulations of the Board of Education, the Michigan Department of Education, and the State of Michigan.

Performance Responsibilities:

A strong background in teaching or other related fields of instruction.

Knowledge of research-based instructional practices.

The ability to teach a variety of ability-level students in the same classroom.

Working knowledge of the appropriate state and national benchmarks.

Demonstration of effective classroom management techniques with high levels of student engagement.

Demonstration of effective integration of technology into their instruction.

The competency to teach a variety of students with different abilities in the same classroom.

The ability to work in a team environment towards the individual classroom, building, and district goals.
