Elementary Instructional Coach

Position Goal: Works collaboratively with teachers to improve instructional strategies, enhance student learning, and foster professional growth. Provide non-evaluative support through modeling lessons, observing classes, analyzing data, offering feedback, and acts as a partner in teaching rather than a supervisor.

Reports to: Superintendent, Director of Curriculum & Grants, and Building Principal

• Master’s degree in educational leadership and a valid Michigan teaching certification
• Extensive and proven classroom management techniques
• Ability to demonstrate best practices in real-time or co‑plan and teach lessons with the teacher
• Ability to establish a cycle of setting goals, learning new strategies, observing classrooms, and reflecting with teachers
• Knowledge of teaching intervention strategies
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse cultural, racial and socioeconomic student population
• Ability to assist teachers to examine student assessment data to identify learning gaps and inform instruction.
• Self‑directed, organized, and able to prioritize when given a variety of responsibilities and assigned tasks

• Previous teaching experience – elementary level or middle school level
• Training or desire to be an Instructional Coach
• Background in psychology or extensive study in psychology
