Educational Assistant

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Clara Bolen Elementary. The ideal candidate will support teachers and students in a dynamic classroom environment, fostering a positive learning atmosphere while assisting with educational activities and individual student needs. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic and social development of our students.

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional activities and managing classroom behavior.
• Provide one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational requirements.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources to enhance student learning experiences.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and field trips to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and engagement.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, grading assignments, and organizing classroom materials.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to educational practices and student support.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a supportive school community.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to varying classroom needs.
• Knowledge of child development principles and educational practices.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student learning and growth.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and technology used in educational settings.
• Background check clearance and any required certifications in first aid or CPR.
