Job Summary: Work with students to develop
English Language Artsknowledge and skills that are fundamental to their success.
- Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate
- Endorsement in BA English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Strong understanding of middle school and high school students and age-appropriate teaching methods
- Proficiency with educational technology and software
- Successfully educate students on state and district standards.
- Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with district-provided curriculum.
- Implement a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons and learning activities.
- Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments and provide timely feedback.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, and build strong relationships with students.
- Collaborate with special education staff as needed to provide students with IEPs, appropriate accommodations, and supplementary aids.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and district initiatives.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
