Cedar Springs Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Special Education Assistant assigned to our Middle School MICI classroom. This is a paraprofessional position which provides support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; providing information to appropriate school personnel.
This is a full-time, school year position (Approximately 33 hours per week) which comes with single subscriber health benefits.
- High School graduate
- Current CPR Certification or willing to obtain CPR certificate
- Ukeru Training or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of skills with behavior management
- Demonstrates dependability and promptness
- Understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward Middle School students
- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with students, staff, parents and the general public with the understanding that confidentiality should be exhibited
