The Teacher supports the Philosophy and Mission Statement of the hiring school and provides a classroom environment and academic program to meet the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical needs of each student.

• Be committed and passionate about Catholic education.
• Plan lessons and instruct children as directed by curriculum standards of the school.
• Coordinate individual teaching goals and curriculum with those of the department and of the school.
• Provide instruction to all levels of student ability.
• Utilize a variety of instructional approaches involving all available resources.
• Promote a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Support the administrator and communicate with colleagues and parents in a spiritual and professional manner.
• Maintain teaching credentials and professional growth.
• Prepare required student records and reports.
• Attend all required school meetings and events.
• Support and enforce all school policies.
• Fulfill all special duty assignments.
• Understand and sign the terms and requirements of a formal Archdiocese of Detroit contract.
• Model Christian behavior.
• Treat all individuals with dignity and respect.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, copy of teaching certificate, copy of transcript, and any other documents supporting candidacy. Candidates pursuing a teaching certificate will also be considered.

The candidate must complete fingerprinting, a background check, and the Protecting God’s Children virtual workshop prior to working with students.
