Transition Navigator
Adult Education, Mt. Morris Education and Community Center, Mt. Morris, Michigan.
Salary: $25.00 per hour, 7 hours a day (excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch), 184 days a year.
Qualifications- Possess an understanding of the at‑risk population and have willingness and flexibility to work in the school program at the Genesee County Jail or other sites as needed.
- Possess knowledge of the Genesee County service area and the population served.
- Have strong oral and written communication skills, with basic computer literacy preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Synergy & MAERS.
- Have the ability to travel to various locations to provide services to students.
- Demonstrate understanding of the adjudicated youth and adults.
- Be self‑directed, goal‑oriented, organized, flexible and able to work effectively with others.
- Knowledge of MiWorks and facilitate employment, college and training options for students.
- Experience in post‑secondary and/or school setting.
- Knowledge of the requirements for completion of the GED/HSC.
- It is preferred that the individual has a post‑secondary degree in the areas of Education, Health, Human or Disabilities Services. A demonstrated combination of relevant experience, training and exhibited skills may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Must meet all certification/NCLB highly qualified requirements as set by the State of Michigan/NCA and/or the Mt. Morris Board of Education.
