The position is for a teacher of special education students primarily in grades 6-12. The teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate grade level classroom instruction and activities.

Qualifications:

• Education requirements:
  
  Michigan teaching certificate with the appropriate special education certification or working towards the appropriate certification
• ASD or CI certification preferred
• Experience, knowledge & skills:
  Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in special education and general education instruction
• Work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators
• Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, and administration
• Knowledge of age appropriate curriculum, application of appropriate assessment, and knowledge of effective use of age appropriate, research based instructional strategies for secondary students
• Planning and organizational skills
• Digital literacy skills
