Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university or enrolled in/have completed an alternate pathway to certification required.
• Must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed for this position with: A Michigan Teaching Certificate, Secondary Teaching Certificate and Math Endorsement of EX required.
• Thorough understanding of the College Prep Mathematics curriculum

Responsibilities:

• Have a relationship approach to classroom management
• Teach district approved CPM curriculum, using instructional best practices that support student ownership and empowerment
• Intentionally plan and design the learning so that students have the opportunity to learn in whole group, small group, and individualized instruction
• Use formative assessments to continue to drive lesson planning and learning
• Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress and grades.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance, progress, and concerns.
• Actively participate in department and school-wide curriculum development and decision-making.
• Be part of the Laker School Family by participating in professional development, attend staff meetings, and be a team player.
