Paraprofessional

Job Goals:

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing intervention programs for students.
• Help develop a positive, "can-do" classroom climate.
• Lead small groups of students in reading and writing activities as directed.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment.
• Keep accurate records of student achievement and progress.
• Utilize technology to enhance learning opportunities.
• Stay current with educational best practices.
• Provide a positive, least-restrictive learning atmosphere for all students.
• Positively represent Whitefish Township Community Schools.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with lesson implementation and identifying student needs.
• Work collaboratively and respectfully with staff and administration.
• Support testing practices and communicate student progress as appropriate.
• Assist with lunch and recess supervision.
• Serve as a substitute when needed.
• Follow IEP and 504 plans as required.
• Serve as a backup Career & Technical Education (CTE) van driver as needed, including safe student transportation, supervision, vehicle inspections, and compliance with district transportation and safety policies.
• Complete all required Safe Schools Training and submit documentation by the designated deadline.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Superintendent.
• Follow all district and building policies, procedures, and standards.

185 days per year | 7.5 hours per day
