Title I Paraprofessional / Classroom Support

This is a part-time position offered through a third-party contractor for 7 hours per day. No benefits included. A paraprofessional is a trained school employee who provides instructional, behavioral, or clerical support under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.

Qualifications:

To work in a Title I program in Michigan, candidates must hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and meet exactly one of the following criteria under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA):

• College Credits:
  Complete at least 60 semester hours of study at an institution of higher education.
• Degree:
  Obtain an Associate's Degree or higher.
• Formal Assessment:
  Achieve a passing score on an approved formal academic assessment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Academic Intervention:
  Deliver one-on-one or small-group tutoring in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Instructional Support:
  Assist students with guided practice, reinforce lessons originally introduced by certified staff, and help implement differentiated instruction.
• Classroom Management:
  Supervise students and provide instructional assistance in computer laboratories, libraries, or media centers.
• Data & Progress Monitoring:
  Administer curriculum-based testing, manage makeup work, and record objective data regarding student academic progress.
• Parental Engagement:
  Conduct or assist with planned parental involvement activities designed to bridge student learning between home and school.
