Elementary Art Teacher
Willow Ridge Elementary is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a full-time Elementary Art Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic abilities, foster a love for the arts, and create a positive and engaging learning environment. This position requires a commitment to nurturing students' creativity and helping them develop their artistic skills across various mediums.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging art curriculum for elementary students, incorporating various techniques and materials.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-expression and creativity.
- Plan and conduct art lessons that align with state standards and the school's educational goals.
- Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Organize and facilitate art shows, exhibitions, and other events to showcase student work.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into cross-curricular projects and activities.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked art studio, ensuring all materials and equipment are available and in good condition.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and art-related events.
- Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate new techniques and ideas into the curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Art Education (K-12) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching art to elementary-aged students is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic talents.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools in art education is a plus.
