Middle School Principal The Huron Valley Schools is seeking an energetic, highly effective and passionate Middle School Principal who is responsible for the leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the school program and operation. Position Type:

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be passionate in working with all students to inspire and build futures.
Must have competent written and oral communication skills.
Valid teaching certificate in the State of Michigan.
Must be a collaborative decision-maker that can make building decisions while supporting and implementing HVS directives.
Must hold a Master's Degree from an institution recognized as qualified to grant such a degree and must possess or be eligible for the appropriate administrative certification, as required.
Minimum of five (5) years of professional service.
Evidence of ability to provide instructional leadership through:
Knowledge and application of research on school and teacher effectiveness
Understanding of human growth and development and learning theory
Evidence of monitoring student learning to improve instruction
Evidence of sincere interest in secondary curriculum and instruction practices
Evidence of active participation and understanding of data driven instruction
Excellent communication, group leadership and team management skills
Demonstrated interest and experience with the middle school program
Essential Functions:
Assume responsibility for management and instructional leadership of the school using a variety of leadership styles.
Lead curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure learning for all.
Ability to enhance a school culture that continually improves student and staff learning.
Ability to enhance a school culture that continually supports social-emotional learning.
Assume responsibility for developing and implementing the school improvement process within the framework of the district plan.
Incorporate Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) and Restorative Practices into building culture to ensure a safe and positive environment for all students.
Create opportunities to empower students, staff, and families to be involved in all aspects of the school community.
Promote and support staff initiative, innovation, and self-improvement.
Commit to high visibility and transparent communication with all stakeholders using multiple forms of communication, including social media.
Remain informed about current educational research and best practices.
Lead and support the effective implementation of professional learning communities, collaborative inquiry, and other district teams.
Monitor student learning data to support school and district efforts to increase student achievement.
Provide appropriate and effective intervention and enrichment opportunities for both individuals and groups of students.
Support professional growth, mentor new teachers, and effectively interact with district staff.
Using growth-oriented measures, formally evaluate all building staff.
Assist in the hiring process for new staff.
Prepare a master schedule consistent with district middle school guidelines and which provide students with a full range of curricular offerings.
Maintain a budget for the building, allocating resources to achieve program goals.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Technology or his/her designee.
Education and/or
Experience:
Master's Degree or higher.
Language, Mathematical and Reasoning
Skills:
Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
