We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a 4th Grade Teacher at Wacousta Elementary. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment for students, encouraging their academic growth and personal development. This full-time position requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, assignments, and observations.
  • Provide individualized support and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and teaching strategies.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Organize and participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Utilize technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
    • Valid teaching certification for the state of Michigan.
    • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
    • Knowledge of current educational best practices and instructional strategies.
    • Proficiency in using technology in the classroom.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
