Job Summary

The GSRP Associate Teacher works in partnership with the Lead Teacher to provide a high-quality preschool experience for children enrolled in the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). This role supports classroom instruction, assists with planning and implementing lessons, and helps create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes school readiness and overall child development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement daily lessons and activities aligned with the GSRP curriculum.
  • Support classroom management and provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of all children.
  • Assist with ongoing child assessments and contribute to documentation of student progress.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in home visits, parent‑teacher conferences, and family engagement activities.
  • Help maintain accurate classroom records and ensure compliance with state licensing and GSRP requirements.
  • Participate in professional development, training, and coaching as required.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development;
    OR
  • A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with a focus on preschool-aged children.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in preschool education.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, families, and program staff.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting the diverse needs of all learners.
Work Environment

This position is based in a preschool classroom setting and requires active engagement with children, families, and staff throughout the school day.
