TEACHER CONSULTANT

Salary: $48,252 - $75,969/In Accordance with the CLEA Master Agreement

Reports To: Building Administrator

• Must Possess a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for the Appropriate Grade Level.
• Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to special education.
• Must hold Teacher Consultant Endorsement (includes 3 years of satisfactory teaching experience).
• Must have an endorsement in at least one area of special education.
• Experience with K-12 Students.
• Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing.
• Ability to clearly communicate assessment results and collaborate with general education teachers regarding classroom modifications and differentiation of curriculum.
• Knowledge of the Common Core and grade level expectations and the ability to work with general education staff provide curriculum modifications for students with IEP’s.
• Knowledge and experience with Assistive Technology.
• Knowledge and experience with behavioral difficulties, including Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Ability to work with general and special education staff to service caseload students.

• Early Childhood PK-K (ZA) Endorsement.
• Learning Disabilities (SM) Endorsement.
• Experience with ECSE students.

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction and co‑teaching for identified classrooms.
• Coordinate and schedule IEP’s for caseload students.
• Participate in multi‑disciplinary evaluations and behavior intervention planning.
• Provide written reports for student evaluations and caseload student’s annual assessments.
• Provide consultation for general education in the areas of classroom modifications and differentiating the curriculum.
• Provide consultation for K-12 as assigned.
• Provide guidance and support to building special education teams for individual students.
• Assist in the coordination of state and local assessment.
• Assist in transition IEP’s and Secondary Transition Activities.
• Provide communication to parents, teachers, and administration regarding caseload student’s needs and program planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
