- Valid Michigan teaching certificate, school counselor credential, or relevant experience in career readiness, postsecondary planning, workforce development, or secondary education and the ability to support students with Educational Development Plans (EDPs) preferred
- Knowledge of Michigan's Career Development Model and postsecondary planning resources
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors, administrators, students, families, and community partners
- Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills
- Identify, monitor, and maintain a caseload of students eligible for Section 31a services who would benefit from targeted career and postsecondary supports, including Career Connections Academy, WAVE, Dual Enrollment, and Work-based learning programs.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and families.
- Provide individualized career, college, and postsecondary planning.
- Support Educational Development Plans (EDPs), graduation planning, and career pathway exploration.
- Coordinate career exploration activities including Career Quest, job shadows, internships, Manufacturing Week, college visits, and work-based learning experiences.
- Assist students with dual enrollment, scholarships, FAFSA completion, and postsecondary applications.
- Develop partnerships with local businesses, colleges, and workforce organizations.
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with school staff to remove barriers to success.
Terms of Employment:
