26/27 School Year | Part-Time | Special Education Director | Spring Lake, MI | Michigan Administrator Certificate Required
Serve as the educational leader for special education services within the school by ensuring compliance with IDEA and Section 504 requirements while supporting students, families, and staff. You'll oversee the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 plans, facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide leadership to create high-quality educational experiences for students with disabilities.

Regular caseload check-ins and clinical consultation from in-house Directors who carry no caseloads
Local office support with the resources of a national organization
Serve as the District Representative by facilitating Consent/Assessment Planning meetings, Eligibility meetings, IEP conferences, and Section 504 meetings
Ensure compliance with all federal and state IDEA and Section 504 timelines, documentation, and procedural requirements
Process parental notices, consents, evaluations, and placement documentation in accordance with applicable regulations
Chair IEP and 504 meetings while collaborating with school staff, families, and community agencies to coordinate student services
Oversee implementation of all IEPs and 504 Plans to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and services
Partner with school administration and scheduling staff to ensure appropriate programming for students with disabilities
Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to school personnel regarding special education procedures and compliance
Assist in coordinating paraprofessional assignments and special education service schedules
Monitor student records and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
Respond to crisis situations involving students with disabilities and coordinate appropriate interventions and supports
Build strong partnerships with families, educators, and community stakeholders to support student success
Must have:
Valid Michigan Administrator's license
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or Master's degree in Educational Administration
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in special education
Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and federal and state special education regulations
DOJ/FBI Live Scan background and TB clearance, as applicable by state
Preferred:
Experience leading IEP teams and managing special education compliance
Knowledge of both special education and general education curriculum
Experience supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze data and use it to drive decision-making and student outcomes
