Job DescriptionJob Title: Early Childhood GSRP 1755 One-on-One Aid
Location: Homestead Hills Elementary
Reports To: Early Childhood Director
Job Function: Student Support
Benzie Central Schools serves over 1,100 students K-12 and spans more than 350 square miles in the Northwest Michigan area. The Early Childhood program serves 3- and 4-year-old children in partnership with GSRP and Head Start. There are six villages in the district, which is also convenient to Traverse City, Manistee, and Frankfort. Benzie Central has three elementary schools (K-5), one middle/high school (6-12), an alternative high school, and Northern Michigan Virtual K-12.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Maintain focus on the developmental needs of our youngest learners and utilize evidence-based practices.
- Assist teachers in executing lesson plans designed to promote best practices for young learners.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Support non‑academic needs through the student support network to remove barriers to academic success.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and complete records of student progress and development, updating as required by law, district policy, and school regulations.
- Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- The ability to prioritize student learning needs over obstacles.
- The strong desire to achieve outstanding results in a short time.
- The strong desire and ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students.
- Skill and willingness to leverage student support systems to address social, emotional, nutritional, and health needs of all students.
- The capacity to respond to individual academic and non‑academic needs.
- The ability to seek knowledgeable peers, coaches, and administrators for instructional support.
- High School Diploma (required).
- Paid Degree options available.
- CDA preferred.
- Opportunities to obtain a CDA paid by the program.
Salary Range: $18.00 per hour
