ScheduleSchool year position following the district calendar. Monday - Friday; 6.75 hours per day
Starting WageAccording to the MEA Contract. $14.37 per hour, or higher – based on actual years of experience
Starting DateSchool Year (August 2026)
Job ObjectiveThe Para educator is responsible for assisting teachers, Itinerant staff and others in the support of instructional, health related, recreation and/or pre‑vocational job training activities. The Para educator may be assigned to one classroom or to a variety of assignments depending on the needs of the students.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Working knowledge of training techniques, behavior modification, and task analysis.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with students, parents, community, and peers.
- Ability to understand and work with children of all ages.
- Must demonstrate cooperative and effective communication skills, both oral and written, and apply active listening skills.
