Special Education Teacher Assistant
Qualifications- Associate's Degree in a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience working with students, preferably students with disabilities.
- As directed by the teacher, provide instruction in the areas of early academics, K-12 academics, vocational and employment, self-care, life skills, and social emotional learning.
- Assist in preparation and organization of instructional materials.
- Implement behavior support plans for students with significant behavior challenges which can result in the student displaying physically aggressive behaviors toward self or others.
- Assist students in meeting their immediate self-care needs related to feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
- Implement strategies to support students with severe language impairments including modeling the use of assistive technology.
- Demonstrate the ability to keep all information regarding a student and their family confidential.
