Job DescriptionElk Rapids Schools is seeking a motivated, passionate, engaged, and dedicated Student Success Coordinator to make a difference in our community and district. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and staff by fostering student success in the areas of curriculum development, instruction, intervention, behavior management, Section 504, and special education.
Duties and Responsibilities- Promote a positive school culture by developing and supporting existing Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support that celebrate student academic and social‑emotional achievement.
- Provide consultation, modeling, and feedback with all school staff regarding students’ behavior, academic performance, and overall well‑being.
- Lead and facilitate professional development for staff regarding curriculum development, instruction, intervention, behavior management, Section 504, and special education.
- Knowledge of student information and data systems at the local, regional, and state levels.
- Serve on district and building MTSS teams and stay updated on best practices in student management, instruction, data analysis, and educational leadership.
- Monitor progress monitoring data collection systems for students’ academic and behavioral success, including student behavior referrals, attendance, and academic performance, to identify trends and areas for improvement at the building and district level.
- Help develop, implement, and facilitate individualized behavior and academic intervention plans for identified students.
- Facilitate restorative conversations and circles to repair relationships and reintegrate students into the learning environment.
- Assist in planning and implementation of a system of special education programs and services.
- Support building‑level principals with eligibility determinations, evaluations, and plan creation/review of MTSS, special education, and Section 504.
- Monitor and implement compliance with federal and state laws.
- Advise administrators, teachers, and other staff on plans, accommodations, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the district assessment coordinator.
- Coordinate Section 504 training and professional development opportunities.
- Manage grievance procedures connected to special education and Section 504.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Currently holds an advanced degree or is enrolled in an advanced degree program, Master’s or higher, with emphasis in educational leadership, school administration, curriculum, special education, or other related field.
- Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Experience leading effective teams.
- Working knowledge of teacher evaluation and teacher mentoring/coaching experience.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Contract Details:
Salary: $91,328 (192 contract days). Posting Timeline:
