Elementary Special Education Teacher
We are seeking a Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at Coloma Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities and ensuring that their individual educational needs are met. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other teachers, parents, and administrators to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in a variety of subject areas
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure that students receive comprehensive and inclusive education
- Monitor and assess student progress, and adjust instruction as necessary
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss any concerns
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in special education
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and instructional activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-age students with disabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of best practices in special education and ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and instructional activities
