Head Caregiver

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Holbrook Elementary as a Head Caregiver. This part-time position is Monday through Friday from 3:40 pm until 6:00 pm. This position involves providing essential care and support to students, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional growth in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, capable of fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily care and supervision of students, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and programs that promote social skills, creativity, and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Monitor and assess the needs of individual students, providing tailored support as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, incidents, and other relevant information.
  • Provide training and support to junior caregivers and volunteers as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
    • Previous experience in a caregiving or educational role, preferably in an elementary school setting.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and adults alike.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
    • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in caregiving.
    • First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
