Adjunct – Electrical and Automation Technology

Adjunct instructor teaching courses within the robotics curriculum. Classes will be day or evening at the Niles, Michigan campus and may include industrial robotics, electronics, digital electronics, or other related subjects.

• Associate's Degree in Robotics or equivalent and field or work experience as a Controls Engineer or similar position.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• Teaching experience including delivery of online (remote) instruction.
• FANUC Certification.

• Teach materials in an engaging and interactive manner to students.
• Teach courses during the hours outlined for the course.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, final exams, and student labs.
• Document grades in the Learning Management System (Moodle).
• Perform final outcomes assessment with the course leader.
• Additional duties not noted in this description may be assigned by a supervisor.

All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, and to relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.

Physical activity of this position involves:

• Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
• Balancing on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Stooping, bending downward at the waist.
• Kneeling, crouching, and crawling on hands and knees.
• Reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects ranging from 10 to 50 pounds.
• Hand and finger coordination including typing, keyboarding, picking, pinching, and handling small objects.
• Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.

Employees are subject to noise and vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of extremities or whole body, and various hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, heat, and chemicals.
