2nd Grade Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our team at Coloma Elementary School as a full-time 2nd Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in elementary education, a passion for teaching young children, and a desire to contribute to the success of our school.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
• Create a positive and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and growth
• Assess and evaluate student progress on a regular basis using a variety of methods
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide events and initiatives
• Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and behavior
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university
• Applicant must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed for this position with a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (K-5 all subjects (ZC, ZG or ZO))
• Prior experience teaching 1st grade or elementary education preferred
• Strong knowledge of elementary education curriculum and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain a positive and safe classroom environment for all students
