Cuisnary Arts Instructional Technician

The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. They provide support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.

Qualifications
  • 4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in the culinary field.
  • Serve Safe certification required.
  • Related Associate's degree preferred.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Be able to lift 50lbs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor.
  • Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans.
  • Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching, and reinforcing technical and academic content.
  • Assist students in the development of personal management skills.
  • Assist students in the transition from school to work.
  • Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior, and special needs.

    Job Responsibilities
  • Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent.
  • Assist with recruiting and promotional activities.
  • Assist with student management activities.
  • Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students.
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, and SCCRESA Board of Education Policy Manual.

    Required Education Level: High School Diploma

    Required Skill Set:

    Conditions of Employment:

    Position Employment Date: upon board approval, pending background check and drug screening

    185 Day School Year

    Salary: per the Instructional Technicians unaffiliated collective bargaining agreement
