The primary job goals of the GSRP Third Teacher are to support the teaching teams in providing high quality services to students enrolled in the program.
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma
Additional Certifications/Training Desired:
- Training and experience in High Scope Preschool Curriculum®
- Training and experience in COR Advantage®
- CPR and First Aid Certified
Work Experience:
Previous work experience in early childhood is preferred. Preference to candidates with knowledge of the Great Start Readiness Program services.
- Complete all childcare and school related background checks (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
- Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
- Support teaching team in gathering observations and data to support child assessment.
- Serve as official substitute staff for lead or associate teacher when assigned to that role.
- Assist with general housekeeping and food preparation tasks.
- Treat all children and their parents with the ultimate respect and dignity.
- Attend all meetings and recommended training programs and professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality about children and their families.
- Supervise and participate in outdoor play.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
- Make student-centered decisions
- Adhere to federal, state and VBISD policies and procedures
- Model VBISD guidelines:

- Seek ongoing improvement and accept feedback in a professional way
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director or Superintendent.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Stand, bend and move up and down from the floor throughout the day
- Lift 35-50 pounds
- Must have the stamina and agility to run or move quickly
