We are seeking a Technical Trainer I - In-Life for our Training & Development Team located in Mattawan, MI
.

The Technical Trainer I role is responsible for providing initial species skill development during the new hire period, and additional skills training beyond the new hire period. The trainer will work directly with the training and production management to facilitate training employees. A successful candidate must meet the job description requirements and possess experience working on production studies in husbandry and technical skills for large animal, small animal, NHP and/or multi-species areas.

Preferred husbandry skills include daily observations, feeding/watering, room cleaning, animal handling, cage rotations, body weight measurement, detailed observations as well as other fundamental animal functions. Technical proficiency in multiple routes of blood collection and test material administration preferred.

The pay for this position is $25/hr USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Provides analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation for on-boarding and technical training activities, courses, and programs to support the organization and/or customers. Delivers and documents elements of the on-boarding/orientation and technical training program. Conducts classroom, virtual and hands‑on instructor‑led training. Partners with functional areas to develop training resources for audio, visual and kinesthetic learning types. Conducts training in accordance with company policy and procedure, local, state/federal, and international regulations and/or customer requirements.

Supports and provides guidance for training activity, course and program development using courseware/author ware and learning management (LMS/LCMS) tools. Maintains professional accreditation and knowledge in communication, learning theory, coaching, feedback and motivation KSAs.

• HS/GED/Bachelor's degree with 1-4 years of relevant experience; LAT certification preferred.
• Large animal, small animal, NHP, and/or multi-species experience in husbandry and technical skills on production studies required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in required departmental technical skills; previous training experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of department processes and procedures.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
• Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
• Ability to work under specific time constraints.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa, now or in the future.
