Position Summary

The Agriscience & FFA Program Coordinator is a 12-month position that provides instructional, organizational, and student support services to advance the mission of The Dave & Betty Morris School for Agricultural and Natural Science. The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, staff, families, community partners, and the Agriscience Teacher/FFA Advisor to promote academic achievement, career readiness, leadership development, and authentic agricultural learning experiences.

A primary responsibility of this position is to support the development, growth, and sustainability of the district's FFA chapter through year-round coordination of student leadership opportunities, Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), Career Development Events (CDEs), community partnerships, fundraising, and special events. The Coordinator also assists students through mentoring, career exploration, attendance support, and individualized guidance that connects classroom learning with postsecondary and workforce opportunities.

Because agricultural education extends well beyond the traditional school calendar, this position provides year-round support for FFA activities, student projects, summer programming, agricultural fairs and exhibitions, industry partnerships, and community engagement opportunities.

• Serve as the primary coordinator supporting the development, implementation, and sustainability of the district's FFA chapter.
• Collaborate with the Agriscience Teacher/FFA Advisor to plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive year-round FFA program.
• Coordinate FFA meetings, officer training, Career Development Events (CDEs), Leadership Development Events (LDEs), banquets, conferences, competitions, fundraising activities, and community outreach.
• Assist students with planning, monitoring, and completing Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs).
• Coordinate logistics for student travel, competitions, field experiences, conventions, leadership conferences, and other FFA activities.
• Develop relationships with alumni, agricultural organizations, businesses, industry partners, and community volunteers to expand opportunities for students and strengthen the FFA program.
• Assist with grant writing, sponsorship development, fundraising initiatives, and program promotion to sustain and grow agricultural education opportunities.
• Support the maintenance of FFA records, award applications, proficiency awards, scholarships, and chapter reporting requirements.

• Provide academic, behavioral, attendance, and student support services to students based on individual and school-identified needs.
• Build positive mentoring relationships that foster student confidence, motivation, and resilience.
• Monitor student progress toward academic, behavioral, attendance, and career readiness goals.

• Assist with planning and coordinating career awareness activities, industry partnerships, field experiences, and career pathway opportunities connected to agricultural and natural science education.
• Facilitate career exploration experiences aligned with agriculture, natural resources, skilled trades, and related career pathways.
• Support students in developing employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving, responsibility, and professionalism.
• Coordinate work‑based learning, job shadowing, guest speakers, and community partnerships that expand career awareness.
• Assist students in developing individualized career and postsecondary goals through experiences in agriscience, natural science, applied learning, and related career pathways.

• Support teachers during hands‑on agriscience, greenhouse, garden, livestock, environmental, and outdoor learning experiences.
• Assist with planning and implementing applied learning projects that reinforce academic standards while increasing student engagement.
