Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at GT Norman Elementary as a Lunchtime Supervisor. This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and productive lunch experience for our students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with staff and students to promote a positive school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist students with meal selection and encourage healthy eating habits.
  • Promote positive social interactions among students and help resolve conflicts as they arise.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lunch area, including tables and seating arrangements.
  • Assist with lunch service, including food distribution, sanitation, and waste management.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student behavior and needs.
  • Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Support students with special needs as necessary, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in child development or education is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Must pass background check and comply with school district policies.
  • Availability to work during lunch hours, typically from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM on school days.
