Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our educational team as a 5th Grade Teacher at Reed City Middle School. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and a love for learning. This full-time position requires a commitment to nurturing the intellectual and emotional growth of students while collaborating with colleagues and parents to enhance the educational experience.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and active participation.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
• Uphold school policies and promote a safe and respectful learning environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for elementary education (specific to the state of Michigan).
• Previous experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the elementary level.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
