Location: Dowagiac

Instruct courses in Human Biology, Human Anatomy, and/or Physiology. These courses consist of 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab work per week. Current available courses are scheduled to meet face-to-face daytime and/or evening at the Dowagiac and/or Niles campuses.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in Human Biology, Human Anatomy, and/or Physiology or related coursework.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in subject
  • Community College teaching experience

Other Information

All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.

Physical Requirements
  • The physical activity of this position.

    A. Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

    B. Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

    C. Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    D. Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.

    E. Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

    F. Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. G. Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. H. Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. I. Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • The physical requirements of this position. Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • The conditions the employee will be subject to in this position. The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
