Position Summary: St. Mary’s School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated Second Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community. This position plays an important role in providing engaging, standards-based instruction while intentionally forming students in their Catholic faith.

St. Mary’s School will create a Christ-centered, nurturing classroom environment that supports academic growth, spiritual development, and preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, including coordination of a meaningful retreat experience.

• Provide high-quality instruction across all subject areas aligned with grade-level standards
• Foster a classroom environment rooted in Catholic identity, prayer, and Gospel values
• Prepare students for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in collaboration with parish staff and school leadership
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and sacramental preparation
• Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Establish a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, volunteers, and parish partners
• Participate in school liturgies, faith formation opportunities, professional development, and community events

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification.
• Experience teaching elementary education is preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• A willingness to support and participate in the mission and faith life of St. Mary’s Catholic School in daily classroom practice.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Mary’s School
• Model Gospel values in interactions with students, families, and colleagues
• Possess strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
• Value collaboration and ongoing professional growth
