Role Description This full-time, on-site position is based at Delton Kellogg Schools in Delton, MI. The Biology, Integrated Science, or Agricultural Science Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in designated science courses, using a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting classroom and laboratory activities, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records.

The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment, integrate real-world and agricultural or biological applications where appropriate, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success. Additional duties may include participating in professional development, contributing to school initiatives, and attending meetings and events as required.

Current schedule includes 2-3 biology( 1-2 with an ag science focus), 1 AP biology, 1 wildlife and natural resources course. Demonstration barn and greenhouse under construction.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear instruction, active listening, and effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Candidates should possess solid Laboratory Skills, with the ability to design, supervise, and assess safe, hands-on science experiments and activities.
  • Candidates should possess Research skills, including the capacity to integrate current scientific information and evidence-based practices into classroom instruction.
  • Candidates should possess content knowledge in Biology and Microbiology, with the ability to teach core scientific concepts and applications in biology-related or integrated science courses.
  • Relevant qualifications include a valid Michigan teaching certificate (or eligibility), preferably with endorsements in Biology, Integrated Science, or Agricultural Science.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience with diverse learners, familiarity with educational technology, skills in classroom management, and commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching.
