Detroit Country Day School is seeking substitute teachers for PK3 - 3rd grade. The ideal applicant should have experience and enjoy working with elementary school students. Substitute Teachers provide classroom instruction and support in the classroom teacher's absence. The positions are on-call, working half or full workdays. The hours of work are between 7:5 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m.

• Deliver lesson plans and activities provided by classroom teachers
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Responsible for the health and safety of assigned students
• Implement school emergency procedures as necessary
• Collaborate with faculty, students, parents, and administrators as appropriate
• Perform other assigned teacher duties, as needed

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, required
• Teaching Certification, preferred
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience, preferred
• Flexible and willing to adapt to change on short notice
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Collaborative team player
• Exceptional judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality

• Regular standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending or stooping
