Caseload:
Eligible adult students attending the Adult ELL program. Caseload will be determined after student enrollment.

Schedule:

Monday
- Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possesses a bachelor's degree or higher in English, ESL, linguistics, bilingual education, or a closely related degree, and a valid Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification, as per Mi Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development policy.
• Prior experience working with adults in an educational setting is preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of student information.
• Skillfully provide support to students learning English.
• Proficiency in following instructional plans utilizing best practice instruction strategies and curricular resources
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Strong organizational skills for managing instructional materials and student records.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Dependability and punctuality.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and provide English instruction to limited English proficient adult students
• Help to schedule students in appropriate levels of instruction and clearly communicate the schedule with all stakeholders, including students and district staff
• Develop and implement instructional lessons based on students' proficiency using content standards
• Maintain accurate data and student records that are shared with the Coordinator
• Provide ongoing, constructive feedback to students regarding progress and areas for improvement
• Participate in professional development to maintain professional certifications

Position Details :

Compensation: $33 per hour
