Adult ELL Teacher Part-Time

Caseload:
Eligible adult students attending the Adult ELL program. Caseload will be determined after student enrollment.

Schedule:

Monday
- Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Qualifications & Skills

Possesses a bachelor's degree or higher in English, ESL, linguistics, bilingual education, or a closely related degree, and a valid Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification, as per Mi Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development policy.

Prior experience working with adults in an educational setting is preferred.

Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of student information.

Skillfully provide support to students learning English.

Proficiency in following instructional plans utilizing best practice instruction strategies and curricular resources

Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Ability to build positive relationships with students.

Strong organizational skills for managing instructional materials and student records.

Ability to manage time effectively.

Dependability and punctuality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and provide English instruction to limited English proficient adult students
Help to schedule students in appropriate levels of instruction and clearly communicate the schedule with all stakeholders, including students and district staff
Develop and implement instructional lessons based on students' proficiency using content standards
Maintain accurate data and student records that are shared with the Coordinator
Provide ongoing, constructive feedback to students regarding progress and areas for improvement
Participate in professional development to maintain professional certifications

Position Details :

Compensation: $33 per hour
