7-12 Permanent Substitute Teacher Summary
A position that is embedded within Tahquamenon Area Schools for the duration of the school year. Individuals are to report to TAS each day, checking in with administrative/clerical staff to receive assignments.
Qualifications- Official transcripts with a total of 60 credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA from regionally accredited colleges/universities
- Temporary Teaching Authorization
- Current Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Expired Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Out of State Teaching Certificate accompanied by an official undergraduate transcript from a two or four-year accredited college/university showing 60 credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA

Reports to: Superintendent/Building Principal
Job Goals: To deliver relevant curriculum and to actively facilitate student participation and opportunities for learning to students in assigned classes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be prepared to lead any classroom 7th - 12th grade.
- Provides a stimulating teaching-learning environment, making use of a variety of instructional tools and teaching aids.
- Reviews with the principal all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day as needed.
- Attends all professional development and/or meetings called by the Superintendent or his/her designee or principal unless explicitly excused by the person calling the meeting.
- Maintains high expectations for student conduct and enforce expectations at all school functions.
- Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
- Utilizes approved instructional material and appropriate equipment and/or technology for educational purposes.
- May be required to create lesson plans if in the same classroom for more than 3 days. Consults with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the lesson plan.
- Maintains appropriate supervision of students at all times.
- Is familiar with and complies with all expectations as designated in the TAS staff handbook.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent and/or principal may assign.

Benefits: $125 per day
