Position:

Elementary Special Education Teacher

Requirements:

--Michigan teaching certificate in Learning Disabilities (SM);
Cognitive --Impairment (SA); or Emotional Impairment (SE)
--Must meet Highly Qualified status
--Willingness to support students in a resource lab setting
--Willingness to support students in a self-contained setting

Preferences:

--Knowledge or the ability to utilize technology to instructional structure
--Ability to work with a diverse racial and cultural student population
--Understanding of current instructional strategies, including Differentiated Instruction, MTSS, along with providing accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum.
--Knowledge of data disaggregation and application to targeted assistance for general education students.
--Knowledge of RTI and supporting interventions.
--Experience with the IEP process is highly desirable.
--Demonstrated competence as an educator.
--Familiar with providing direct explicit instruction in deficit areas.
--Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, action-orientated.
--Works well in a collaborative environment.
--Background or certification in Math
