Position Summary:

Arkansas State University Three Rivers (ASUTR) is accepting applications for part-time, adjunct faculty positions. These are on-campus positions based at the ASUTR campus in Malvern, Arkansas. Assignments and instructional formats will vary based on institutional and program needs and may include classroom, laboratory, and/or online instruction

Duties & Responsibilities:

Adjunct faculty are responsible for providing high-quality instruction and supporting student success. Duties may include:

  • Provide classroom, laboratory, and/or online instruction through the Canvas Learning Management System, as appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver engaging instructional materials, course content, objectives, and syllabi consistent with program and institutional requirements.
  • Evaluate student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and participate in formal assessment alignment activities.
  • Provide appropriate availability and support to students outside of scheduled class time through email, appointments, or other approved communication methods.
  • Review and select appropriate textbooks and other instructional resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely classroom records, including attendance, participation, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Submit required academic information, including Eleventh-Day Audit information, midterm and final grades, assessment reports, and other requested materials, accurately and by established deadlines.
  • Participate in program reviews and other academic activities as scheduled.
  • Attend the annual professional development event and participate in other required professional development activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills within the discipline and incorporate appropriate practices into instruction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and student assignments.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information to students, faculty, staff, administrators, and, when applicable, clinical or community partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees, and external partners or clinical facilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to use electronic systems for instructional and academic record keeping. All ASUTR courses require electronic record keeping; platform-specific support is available.
General Days/

Hours:

Work schedules will be determined by the course assignment and instructional schedule. Adjunct faculty schedules may include daytime, evening, weekend, laboratory, or online assignments based on program needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in the discipline to be taught; OR
  • Master's degree in a related field plus a minimum of 18 graduate-level credit hours in the specific content area to be taught.
