Field Service Engineer – Warranty and Quality Assurance – Iowa/Kansas/Nebraska Area
As part of the Electrification Automation Business Unit, we’re seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to manage punch list items, warranty issues, and support our large data center customers in the Iowa/Kansas/Nebraska area.

- Conduct pre‑installation site visits to assess storage conditions and environmental readiness before equipment arrival.
- Lead efforts in the management and resolution of punch list items for large‑scale data center installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Oversee the resolution of warranty‑related issues, working with internal teams and external customers to provide timely solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues related to low and medium‑voltage power distribution systems, including control circuits and electrical components.
- Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and start‑up of LV and MV equipment in data center projects, ensuring proper system integration and performance.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns related to punch lists, warranties, and technical issues, building strong relationships with customers and contractors.
- Provide valuable feedback to project and quality program managers based on field experience, contributing to process and product improvements.
- Primarily support sites in the Illinois/Wisconsin area with 80% travel across the United States as needed; be available for emergency assignments and rapid response situations.
- Maintain clear, thorough documentation of warranty claims, technical issues, and punch list resolutions, providing detailed reports on status and actions taken.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of experience in power distribution systems (low and medium voltage, 480V‑38kV).
- Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, including low and medium voltage switch gear, breakers, and control circuits.
- Strong working knowledge of power distribution systems, including testing, commissioning, and start‑up procedures.
- Ability to work independently in a field‑based, hands‑on environment, providing technical support and resolving complex issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Must be available for emergency and relief assignments, as well as up to 80% travel for national site visits.
- This position must be based remotely within the Iowa/Kansas/Nebraska area.
- Driver’s license in good standing; must be at least 21 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without company sponsorship.
- Experience in customer service or warranty support roles within the industrial or data center sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of field service experience, ideally with data center or power distribution systems.
- Experience with protection and control relays, SF6 gas circuit breakers, and project management software.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, MSHA 46/48 certifications or similar.
- Additional certifications (NETA, NICET) or a TWIC card are a plus.
