Position: Renewable Energy Technician -Solar - Multiple Levels [On-Site]
Location: Hart

Position Overview

EDF Power Solutions North America, a leading independent power producer, is hiring Renewable Energy Technicians for utility‑scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects. This role spans entry‑level to expert levels (Technician 2–5) focused on maintenance, repair, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines, PV systems, and BESS.
  • Respond to 24/7 on‑call rotation for system monitoring and fault diagnosis.
  • Adhere to safety protocols (LOTO, lockout/tagout) and conduct site safety assessments.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records: logs, work orders, time tracking, warranties, and inventory.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to support asset integrity and budget control.
  • Provide mentorship and competency sign‑offs for lower‑level technicians.
  • Support site crew and contractor oversight in managerial absence.
  • Travel to on‑site projects such as Hart Solar (Hart, MI) and Lake Iris (Greenwood, MI).
Qualifications
  • Experience: 0–1 year for Technician 1, 1–2 years for Technician 2, 2+ years for Technician 3, 2–4 years for Technician 4, 5+ years for Technician 5.
  • Education: High‑school diploma or equivalent for all levels.
  • Skills: Basic computer knowledge, schematic interpretation, and use of multimeter; progressive expertise in generation theory, electrical safety (arc flash, NEC), advanced diagnostic tools, and wind/solar industry best practices.
  • Certifications: Qualified Electrical Worker standards; competency in system software and industry standards.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license; ability to travel as required.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Field work 100% outdoors for Technicians 1–3; approx. 20% office time for Technician 4.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights >300 ft and work in confined spaces.
  • Operate in extreme weather and electrical‑mechanical environments.
  • Lift up to 35 lb regularly, up to 50 lb frequently.
  • Wind‑only safety restriction: maximum employee weight ≤285 lb.
