Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician with experience in high‑pressure natural gas pipeline systems and turbine engine compressors. The role requires a self‑starter who can work with minimal supervision and demonstrates strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
Responsibilities- Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair gas‑fired turbine engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low‑pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large‑bank cooler fans, gear boxes, large‑diameter valves, operators, and other auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain and repair pipeline assets; operate and maintain valves and operators.
- Inspect, repair, and set regulators and relief valves.
- Blow down, purge, and pressurize pipelines and/or stations.
- Perform line location on company pipelines, utility line patrols, and related ROW maintenance.
- Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, including routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects.
- Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, and create new work orders in SAP.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant oil and gas industry experience.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting turbine engines.
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines, centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generators.
- Experience working with Rolls‑Royce industrial gas turbines.
- Plant environment experience.
- In lieu of a strong mechanical background, a working understanding and experience in instrumentation and controls with a mechanical aptitude will be considered.
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Successfully complete a pre‑employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Be subject to call‑out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or work weeks for emergency response purposes.
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training, including some overnight stays.
- Be prepared to work under adverse weather and temperature conditions, heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), and cramped conditions.
- Driving a motor vehicle is an essential function of the position. The company will check the motor vehicle records of any appointee when driving is an essential function.
