Salary Range

The full pay range for this role is $22.69 to $47.74 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $25.00 to $38.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope of Job

We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry level Technician 2 to expert Technician 5 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility‑scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Candidates will be placed at the level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards.

Required

Training

Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3‑4 week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Technician 1 (Entry‑Level) – Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols. Works under specific direction and direct supervision.
  • Technician 2 (Experienced) – Performs preventive maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades. Participates in the 24‑hour "On Call" rotation.
  • Technician 3 (Senior) – Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks. May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.
  • Technician 4 (Expert/Lead) – Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventive maintenance, leads major repairs, and acts as a subject‑matter expert.
  • Technician 5 (Expert/Lead) – Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventive maintenance, leads major repairs, and acts as a subject‑matter expert.
Shared Responsibilities (All Levels)
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
  • Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
  • Attend all required safety and technical training.
  • Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
