Plant Reliability Engineer - Analyzer SpecialistThe Plant Reliability Engineer
- Analyzer Specialist is responsible for maximizing the reliability and on-line time of plant assets related to process analyzing equipment. They are aligned to Production and drive defect elimination using Root Cause Analysis techniques, partnering with the Plant Engineering Team Leader, Metrology Team, and Midland Plant Team on technical guidance, mentoring, coaching, and oversight to manage maintenance and reliability performance for gas chromatographs, ICP-MS, FTIRs, photometers, chlorine and silica analyzers, and various monitors for oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, Freon, HCl, HF, TOCs and particle counters.
Functions
- Ensures availability of physical assets and drives recovery from upsets.
- Monitors, reports, and responds to defined reliability KPIs.
- Verifies the effectiveness of preventative maintenance and reviews technical findings to adjust long-term plans.
- Leads Level 0-1 root cause investigations.
- Participates in project and Management of Change reliability reviews.
- Maintains and drafts new analyzer SMPs and SOPs.
- Drafts and owns MOCs for analyzer reliability improvements.
- Designs sample systems for online process analyzers.
- Supports the definition and implementation of maintain and reliability improvement projects within defined workflows.

- Commodity program leader as assigned.
- 10+ years of experience if non-degreed but relevant experience.
- bachelor’s degree with interest in Chemistry and willingness to learn the role.
- Chemical plant environment in manufacturing areas and maintenance shop with exposure to all types of climate and weather conditions.
- Lab environment or setting as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree with applicable experience or 10+ years of applied experience with the equipment specified in the job summary.
The compensation range for this position is $97,360.00 – $ for full-time status. Starting pay depends on factors including market demands, experience, training, and education. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), variable bonus, life insurance, disability benefits, and PTO.
