As a member of the packaging team, the Advanced Packaging Engineer will be responsible for supporting and developing packaging solutions that support new and ongoing automotive programs. This position focuses on pre-source quoting, identifying and developing returnable packaging suppliers, and managing our Lear Packaging Approval System (LPAS).

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

• Advance Packaging Engineer is responsible to supportearly-stage program development through pre-source program quoting, supplier engagement, and management of LPAS (Lear Packaging Approval System).
• This includes all activities related to the planning, budgeting, design, procurement, and management of both returnable and expendable packaging for a variety of automotive seating components.
• Additional responsibilities include supporting new product launch teams and meetings, driving continuous improvement, analyzingengineering drawings and specifications of packaging,and collaborating with cross-functional organization to manage new packaging launches.
• Ensure packaging solutions meet customer, quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Support cost modeling, tooling investment analysis, and ROI evaluations for packaging programs.
• Maintain accurate packaging documentation, standards, and change control throughout the program lifecycle.

• High visibility role with exposure to cross-functional teams including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Program Management.
• Opportunity to support new product launches and influence packaging strategy early in the program lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with both returnable and expendable packaging across multiple programs and regions.
• Collaborative environment with autonomy to manage projects and make meaningful impact.

• Bachelor in Packaging, or Related Study
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Plant Staff, Sales, Purchasing and Program Management
• Coordinate and manage packaging activities with multiple regions when necessary
• 2-3 years of experience with Logistics in Relation to Packaging
• Strong social skills, ability to communicate to all levels of Management
• Experience with Just in Time (JIT) Manufacturing
• Microsoft Office (Excel)
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

• 3 Years working experience in Automotive Packaging
• Continuous Improvement Background
